Transparent. By design.
An awards show is only as legitimate as the process behind it. Here is exactly how ours works.
Eligibility
Open to any working barber, shop, educator, product, or brand active in the northeast US barbering scene during 2025–2026. Nominees may enter themselves or be nominated by peers, clients, or the community.
Public Voting
One vote per person per category, enforced by email, phone, IP fingerprinting, and rate limits. Suspicious voting patterns (bot behavior, ip bursts, disposable emails) are automatically flagged and manually reviewed. Fraudulent votes are removed and repeat offenders forfeit their nomination.
Judging Methodology
Public voting counts for 60% of the final score. A rotating judge panel (see the Judges page) contributes 40% based on craft, originality, community impact, and consistency. Ties are broken by the judge panel. In categories with fewer than 50 public votes, the panel score is weighted higher to preserve integrity.
Attendance Requirement
Nominees and winners must attend the in-person ceremony on October 3, 2026 at Bally's Twin River Casino to be officially recognized. Winners who cannot attend forfeit the award to the runner-up, who must also be present.
Data & Privacy
Voter contact information is used only to enforce one-vote-per-category and for optional winner announcements. We never sell voter data. Vote counts are audited before results are announced; the audit trail is preserved for one year.
Code of Conduct
Any form of harassment, coordinated brigading, misrepresentation, or attempts to buy votes will result in immediate disqualification. Sponsors and judges are excluded from categories they have a direct financial stake in.
